Here at Patrick J Meaney and Assosciates we have been supporting the Child Dental Benefits Scheme which provides a Medicare rebate for basic dental treatment to eligible families. This may include hygiene, radiographs and minor restorations. This scheme allows young patients to access early intervention that may reduce the need for major and cost prohibitive treatments later in life. We believe that the introduction of good oral hygiene can never come too early in a child’s daily routine. Oral health is vital to general well being in all of us.
The Turnbull government is seeking to end this scheme. Whilst it may not have been perfect it was valuable and we would like to see it retained in some form. The Australian Dental Association has been lobbying government for their support and has Labour, The Greens and some independents on board. Would you like to have your say? There are petitions at Change.Org.
If you are eligible for the scheme it could be a good time to schedule an appointment. We love seeing your family.
